No metro station is called Castel Sant'Angelo. Metro line A has stations at Lepanto and Ottaviano, about 920 m and 960 m from the castle in a straight line, and at Flaminio, about 1.4 km. We have not checked the line with ATAC.
We could not confirm any bus or tram line or stop: ATAC's website blocked our check. Look at atac.roma.it and romamobilita.it before you go. We give no line numbers and no walking times.
Termini is about 3.0 km from the castle in a straight line. We found no official connection between the two, so plan the journey on the ATAC and Roma Mobilità planners.
The Leonardo Express is a non-stop Trenitalia train from the airport to Roma Termini in 32 minutes, with departures about every 15 minutes, and in some time bands every 30, according to Trenitalia. We could not confirm the fare, so check trenitalia.com. From Termini, continue as above.
Trenitalia's Ciampino Airlink is a bus without intermediate stops that takes 10 minutes from the airport to Ciampino station, followed by a train to Roma Termini. Trenitalia quotes 2.70 € for the combined trip and 1.20 € for the bus alone. From Termini, continue as above.

As the crow flies, the Ponte Sant'Angelo is about 130 m from the centre of the building, Piazza Pia about 165 m, Piazza Cavour about 375 m and Via della Conciliazione about 390 m. Piazza Navona is about 730 m, St. Peter's Square about 750 m, the Pantheon about 1 km and Piazza del Popolo about 1.2 km. The Colosseum is about 2.6 km away.
These are map distances, not walking times, which we have not measured. The Roma Capitale tourism site describes the castle as a few steps from St. Peter's Basilica, at the other end of the Ponte Sant'Angelo.
We found no official information on taxi ranks or parking near the castle, so we give none.
The museum writes that access is limited to a partial use of the outdoor spaces for visitors with disabilities. Works to improve accessibility are under way. We found no official word on lifts, stairs or wheelchairs inside, so contact the museum before you go. Disabled visitors and one companion enter free under the Ministry of Culture's rules.
The Passetto di Borgo has easier-access guided visits on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, at 10:45 and 12:15, meeting at the Torre del Mascherino in Piazza della Città Leonina, without entering the castle. The museum describes lifts and a covered corridor of 450 m with a minimum width of 75 cm. Each group is limited to 20 people, 5 of them in wheelchairs, and the museum advises against the visit for people who are claustrophobic. Information on +39 06 399 671 00.
